I agree, this is the 1 hammer to have May 31, 2010 N. Reed (New England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned alot of hammers for different uses, but this one is the best overall. The 20 oz. rip claw head, excellent strentgh, balance and durability make it indispensable.
I am always running around to different properties at work so portability is very important. I carry a 12" tool bag and this hammer fits in perfectly, even at just under 12 3/8". I have used this hammer to hit chisels, straighten wood, pound nails from 3d to 20d, and much more.
I may have bought the blue comfort grip if not for the extra inch or so that option brings with it. But the leather handle works great, not to mention it is the more attractive of the two. I wish you could get this exact hammer with the new hammertooth fin for straightening boards. Also useful would be a magnetic nail starter, which i have yet to see on an Estwing hammer.
But other than that, which I can live without, this hammer is the hammer to own for all uses.
Epoxy in the wrong places November 21, 2009 Jim 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
While the leather washer handle is an interesting concept, there were a few problems with the one I received. The epoxy coating to protect the leather was missing on the lower part of the handle, and there was epoxy on the face and claws of the hammer. The hammer states that it is made in the USA.
Estwing Leather Handle Hammer November 7, 2009 P. Harris (Ohio USA) I have used an Estwing hammer since I have been old enough to hold a hammer.
I like the balance and lack of vibration when using this type of hammer. I lost
my previous hammer and have been using this one upon receiving it in the mail.
I have used other hammers but find this make to be the one I like the most!
Great Hammer April 15, 2009 Gordon Priddy (Bowling Green, Ky) I've used this hammer and it's 16oz counterpart for over 25 years and consider it to be the best.
EXCELLENT QUALITY December 1, 2007 Claude H. Suddreth (Phoenix, AZ USA) I have and have used a wide variety of hand tools. I can tell you that this product is made of the highest quality, and will give you a lifetime of good service with minimal maintenance. Highly recommended.
