I feel slightly foolish writing a hammer review, but the fact is it's a really well made hammer. The stacked leather handle feels great, it's well balanced and it has a "presence" when you hold it. I'm sure it thinks it's something grander than a hammer. I don't allow anyone to use the expression, "he's/she's as dumb as a hammer" anywhere that it might hear.

For my needs this hammer is the correct length and weight. the leather grip does not slip in my hand even when I sweat. I will be recommending this hammer and I will be purchasing more as needed.

Top quality with superb balance. In fact it feels more like a 13 oz. Estwing have been around since 1923 and the company still makes great hammers. Only criticism is I preferred the more pronounced curve on the claw that the earlier ones had.
