5 out of 5 stars Estwing Small Rock Pick   July 16, 2008

Estwing makes the broadest range of tools for the geologist. The normal rock pick weighs 22 oz, while the E3-14P weighs only 14. I got it so my grandsons could have fun with me looking looking for fossils.

5 out of 5 stars Estwing rocks your rocks...   January 15, 2007

This is a heavy rock pick and the shipping cost shows it.

However it is the best rock pick there is, and I have used it many times to look into rocks, crevaces etc.

Yes, I suppose you can try and get a $5 hammer at your local hardware store to do the job, but I would rather have a heavy, nicely gripped, the "rolls royce" of rock picks, rock pick, than anything else.

Peter

5 out of 5 stars Great quality & balance   January 1, 2007

I built a long dry laid stone wall this summer. This Estwing hammer performed well is among my favorite hammers for stone... Just don't hit your hand with the chisel end... That hurts :-)

5 out of 5 stars The Queen   June 8, 2005

The Queen of Rock Hammers - slightly lighter than the 22 oz model. Perfect for women, children or hikers. Again, file the corners on the head to prevent splinters and burrs.
