I've had Stanleys which I like, and other cheap brands that I don't mind losing or lending to relatives and friends who never return any of my tools. But when my Vaughan hammer disappeared in 1990, it really pissed me off. Vaughan hammers(those made in the USA) are the best ones I've had and used. I even smile while hammering that nail using my Vaughan. You can't go wrong with this hammer. If Browning hasn't used the slogan, "The Best there is", Vaughan should be called the best there is. x

I bought one of these years ago when adding a room on to my house. After wasting money and time for years on cheap hammers, and being frustrated by poor results, this was a breath of fresh air. I prefer wood handles and it fits my hand well, althought you may get less vibration with a fiberglass handle if you are doing this for a living. The straight claw is much more useful than curved ones in my opinion. I have absolutely no complaints after years of service.
