 Superbly balanced finish nailer January 12, 2008

I've been using this little hammer for about two weeks now, and just love it. Its a minature version of the straight claw framing hammers that have become so popular. It has a balanced swing feel and the stout handle fits nicely in my hand. The head is finely polished steel and the top where the handle connects to the head is sanded smooth and finished to a sharp shine.
I've had a 13 oz. Stanley since the 70's, which was my favorite finish hammer. The lighter head makes for easier swinging and control when sinking in 4p and smaller nails.
This slightly lighter 12 oz hammer is just as easy to swing and has the same striking force as my old 13. I like how the handle is thicker up near the head, so when I need to be really accurate, like when starting a small brad, I can choke up on this tool and spare my fingers.
Overall, I rate this hammer a full five stars, a must have for the serious cabinet maker.

I bought this fine example of craftmanship and decided to try to pull nails with it.well front to back it had plenty of torque but when the head pulled off a nail and I tried side to side the handle snapped right off.It sure looked pretty though.Too bad the old wal mart 2dollar hammer is better.that was 28 dollars down the tubes.
