5 out of 5 stars satisfying purchase well designed and constructed   October 6, 2008

I have a lot of hammers and avoid using them as much as possible. Owning a collection of air powered nailers will do that to a person. They had this one priced so low I couldn't resist buying it. I am glad I did. It has become the hammer I look for when I am driving medium sized nails. I will step over a pile of my other hammers to get to this one.

There is just something about the balance and grip that appeals to me. It is a nicely finished tool and even when not at a give away price it is moderately priced for its level of quality. I have been abusing mine for several months now working on my remodeling project, it is getting pretty scuffed up but the grip is holding up well.

I prefer the feel of wooden handles they are cooler to the touch in warm weather and warmer to the touch when cold, but I find they require a bit more effort to hold on to when my hands are wet from perspiration and I am a little tired. The grip on this hammer works much better under those conditions, easy to hang on to without requiring a lot of effort. The manufacturing designers and engineers did a good job of material selection when choosing the material for the grip on this hammer. I applaud them.

5 out of 5 stars Great hammer with quality materials for $5   September 4, 2007

I got this for $5.00 on a Friday Sale. I bought 9 of them, 1 for myself for household use and the rest for Christmas gifts for my mother, sisters and nieces...I also purchased them 25' tape measures, tool boxes, wrenches, etc., when they were on sale. You may find it surprising that women enjoy having their own tools. Perhaps it's the ability to tell their husbands to "Stay Away From My Tools!" that they enjoy. ...I'll never know...
